Introduction to Debate: This class will:
Gently introduce students to the art of oral argumentation.
Develop public speaking skills in a cooperative environment.
Discuss the do's and don'ts of debates.
Emphasize the importance of proper ennunciation, and appropriate eye contact
Provide opportunities for critical analysis of engaging issues.
Show how to attract and maintain audience attention and gauge audience reaction. Encourage team cooperation.
Advance students reading and writing skills as they prepare for their presentations.
Foster team spirit and build self-confidence.
